Who Was That Masked Woman?

Sadly, no pictures accompany this blog, but we hope our graphic description will convey the image.

Yesterday morning, I was dressed in my collar and harness, ready to take Mom for her morning walk. Just Harry was similarly dressed, waiting for his turn.

All of a sudden, instead of our Mom -- who typically wears a cotton t-shirt and skirt with sandals or light shoes -- a totally bizarre-looking creature appeared. This unrecognizable creature was wearing a heavy sweater, long pants, socks with heavy shoes, a jacket, a wool scarf, and bright red gloves.

"Ready to go outside, Jakey?" the creature asked.

"That voice, I know that voice! It sounds just like Mom!" I thought. But it couldn't be. Socks? Gloves? Wool scarf? Here in South Florida?

What to do? Being the clever six-year old terrier that I now am, I glanced at the headline in the morning paper - TEMPERATURE DROPS TO 39 DEGREES -- FARMERS FEAR FOR THEIR CROPS!! -- and immediately realized what was up.

The strange-looking creature was my Mom. Despite her years in the Northeast, she's now a cold-wimp and fortunately had all those clothes handy from her week in frigid St. Louis. So off we went on our walk.

With my unplucked wirey coat, I was fine; but Mom made a spectacle of herself, wrapping the scarf around her face and impatiently stamping her feet while I did my business.

I guess it's just as well that we have no photos.

We woulda loved to see ur mumsie wrapped up like an Eskimo strollin' through the palm trees!!!! Big Sister in Charlotte musta frozen too...was supposed to get to 15 degrees there yesterday am...Big Sister detests cold.

Babystan and I just got back from our walkie with Mumsie. It's in the teens out there...Lacie gets too cold to walk. Mumsie does fine cept for her hands where our leashes cut off the circulation to her fingers. She's recuperatin' on the sofa as I type. With all these dogs here plus Seymour's pups, she' been crackin' out the White Zinfindel lots more than we've ever seen here. So 3 terriers is NUTS...that's life!

Happiest 6th Barkday to you Buddy....do u feel wiser???

Our Mom is a cold weather wimp too. We don't mind it so much though. We hope you enjoyed the unusual weather.
Anyway, sniff on over to our blog when you have time. We have an award for you there.

Hmmm..haven't seen muzzer in a "real" coat since Virginia. Even when it gets down below freezing here, she and dad do the windbreaker thing. But then, Aunt Marie says the two of them enjoy living in an icebox because they won't raise the therm. above 67! Here, Aunt Re wraps in sweaters and throws to watch a movie at night. Muzzer is barefoot. hoomans are strange.

Hi, Jake!
I've seen that creature here too! Her voices sounds like my mom but I am not so sure since I can't see her face!
And you'd can believe it but she likes to dress me like her. Wit this cold weather I have to wear a t-shirt, a sweater and a coat! Its hard to walk with all those clothes! But if my mom says so... I have to agree!
Have a great weekend
Kisses and hugs

You painted a PERFECT word picture! We could see it all in our heads from the description. OK, we see it all with our eyes as our Servant first puts coats on our nekked selves and then puts layers and layers on herself. At least your mom only stamps her feet. Our Servant utters the most gutterly vile garbage of cuss words at the cold.
It was 10 yesterday in Kentucky!

Hope youwarm up soon down there-

I feel your pain buddy! I mean I love all this snow myownself. Collies are meant for snow! But the woman, she is downright embarrassing when I go out with her. She wears like fifteen pounds of clothes and stuff and carries on like there's no tomorrow.

I, for one, would like to see this creature of which you speak. Maybe it looks strikingly like the creature who I walk everyday too.

Glad you still have enough fur that they didn't try to dress you in some type of coat for the walk.

Goob love,
Stanley
