In Memory of Our Friend, Gianna Galvani

Just when we were so happy about our wirey pal, Jackson, coming home in time for his barkday, we learned that a lady we loved dearly passed away in her sleep this morning. We had never met her in person. She was one of our virtual friends. A virtual friend who lived in Italy and who loved wires and bedlingtons and birds and turtles and every living creature on this planet.

She was very talented and had a creative web site where she memorialized wires and other dogs who had crossed the Rainbow Bridge. And now, although we and many other wires and humans are so sad at losing our warm-hearted friend, two of her wires who have been waiting at the Rainbow Bridge a long, long while will know the joy of running to meet their loving mom.

I first met her in cyberspace when I was a puppy, six years ago -- and she surprised me with a new ear. A few years later, when Just Harry came into our lives, she made this photo collage of the two of us. I was afraid no one would recognize me with my two ears down, so she made us name tags. Ironically, those tags have Olympic rings on them -- but we never suspected we'd be writing these sad words during the Olympics -- or the Paw-Lympics.

Good bye dear friend. Rest in peace.

Dear Jake and JH..take comfort in knowing that not only her own wires, but all the other doggies at the bridge turn out when a loved one comes home. Then there is a big, joyful celebration because a hooman has been reunited with his/her best friends and others who have heard about her/him

Dog Speed Gianna, we know all the WFT will be welcoming a special person.

Yes, we are watching Fay very very closely. Egads we hate this time of year.

Jake & JH, we really appreciate your kind offer. We may take you up on it some other time. Essex and Dad were on KW for Katrina in 95, while Dad road out Irene in 1999. As long as it is still a tropical storm Dad isn't too worried. Though that may change in the AM.

We will probably remove your comment from the blog, because we hate leaving peoples phone numbers on the blog. Recommend you ebark us, if you need us or send stuff like that.

Thank you very much for your kind comments about Khomet. Mum agrees with you about Khomet knowing mum was coming for him. Beau also knew.
Mum continues to hope that there is a rainbow bridge where we will be reunited with our loved ones in heaven.

Boyz, Sorry to hear you lost a friend. I just wanted to pop by and say that after mom went back to sleep, her head felt miraculously better. And my face looks very beautiful today ... thanks for your concern. I hope that hurricane blows right past you without ruffling a wirey fur on your bodies.

I am so sorry to hear about a lost friend. The loss of a special someone is hard to recover from. But we all have to hope and know that all our lost friends are happy over the rainbow.

Lots of love to you both, and to the family as well!
