Butt to Butt

Well, the good news is that we've had so much rain lately here in South Florida that fears of a drought are abated, at least temporarily.

The bad news is that the afternoon and evening rains are accompanied by extremely LOUD thunder boomers.

Often, when it rains during the day, we turn into dog slippers, cuddling as close to Mom's bare feet as we can under her desk. But last night, we cuddled as close to each other as we could -- butt to butt -- and to the folks.

You've seen us under the dining room table before. Here we are last night taking refuge under the glass table in the room that Mom calls the Camelot, because that's where she keeps most of her 175 plus camel collection. (We've asked her to photograph them too, but so far, no luck.) The thunder was so loud and so close that even Mom jumped once or twice!!

What, have we really turned into a two-headed/two-butted foxy??? ...
Nope. it's just me, Jake...

And me, Just Harry...
So our two-buttedness worked. After a while all was quiet again and we got to go for our evening walks with Dogdad. Of course, when we come back from our evening walks after those heavy rains, we first get the WET DOG Turkish towel treatment from Mom and then we roach on the foyer rug to get that last drop of water off.

The sky was really clear after all that rain though, so while we were walking, we remembered to look up at the heavens and send loving vibes to our pal, Jackson.

GREAT hiding spot guys!! Mom grew up on the other side of PA in a tiny town called Homer City! She loves all the Amish stuff and even got to to go to some of their farms as her family has friends that run a feed mill that employs some Amish!

I'm sorry the weather is scary for you but great bomb shelter and cuddling close with your loved ones is the best tonic.

TY for your sweet words.
I'll wait on the blood results, they will go to my doctor in a few days, but I feel well & happy!

We had that thunder too. Man-Dad called H-Mom at the gallery so that she could hear the unearthly sounds that Booker was making ... he sounded completely tormented. A guy was sitting outside at the Riverside Hotel with a Great Dane. Can you believe that the giant dog tried to crawl into the sidewalk planter? hahahahahahahaha SCAREDY CAT. At least Booker does his trembling in private.

You guys look like E.Rabbit's bedroom slippers. hehehe. But ya know, I didn't mind the thunder in AZrizona, but it sure is different here.

Hey pals, sorry to hear about the storms. Going a bit deaf has it's benefits, as I no longer care! J x

Hi guys!

We came home from the dog run in a downpour and then it started thunderbooming and Mommy wouldn't let me up on the couch with her, just because I was sopping wet (even after toweling off!).

Anyhow, I chose Burt Reynolds because he's a Florida boy with the cool, laid-back attitude. (Though I don't know if he ever hid under a desk...) And YOUNG Burt, not the later toupeed/plastic surgery version.

Your pal,

Petey

Phew pals, thank dog you are safe from the boomers. But I'm a little worried bout your casual remark Mom and her 175 CAMELS??? Has she got 176 Foxies I wondered???

Oh and by the by, I heard you barking loud and clear but can you keep it down a little, we are trying to sleep when you are barking...hehehehe!!! Only joking!!!!

Rain, we haven't seen much here lately. We had some boomers a couple nights ago, but hardly any rain. Dad's happy because that means less grass cutting.

Mitch and I do butt to butt too! It's always in dad's pick-up truck where there's not a whole lot of room if somebody, who will remain nameless, doesn't want to share space with me! I hate those thunder boomers too!

Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch

J & JH, I think when you two put your butts together, you can change the world. Clearly, you are controlling the weather.

Your mom should look into those calming shirts they sell for dog...at least I think that's what they are called. You use them during thunderstorms to make the bad feelings go away. I do like your hiding place under the table, though.
