We were going to write a few words to commemorate today's seventh anniversary of the unimaginable horrors that took place on September 11, 2001. But then we visited Asta's blog http://astasworld.blogspot.com/ and found a moving tribute to the canine heroes of that terrible event. Go see for yourselves, if you haven't already, but be prepared for that leaky-eye syndrome and lump-in-the throat to take over.
And there are people in this world who mistreat dogs? How could they with all this evidence of what we do for our humans when they do such terrible things to their own?

We saw that video too Jake and Just Harry. Mom's eyes leaked. But they leaked when she lowered our flag to half staff this morning too. Canines do so much for humankind. That's way dog is God spelled backwards we think.
We will never forget.

hi kiddos, thanks for visiting our blog. we saw the video on Asta's and it made us proud to be dogs. our mom says dogs are the most perfect creatures on earth. we don't understand why anyone would harm us.
woofs.
Humans do all sorts of things I will never understand.
Yup...we had leaky eyes here this morning too. That Asta, she finds some really good stuff.

Grammie says, "Moco I would rather spend my day with you than with most humans I know."
We love the video Asta has on her blog. It's perfect for what we are all about.

I saw that video too...my Mom says she shares the same opinion with you. Doggies give humans never waning love, and yet there are those incompassionate humans who just gets a doggy and mistreat him/her. So very sad.

We will never forget.

Mummy can't understand how anyone can be cruel to dogs, when all we do is love.

Jake ad Just Harry, I think, from the local news here, most of Galveston has hit the road, most ysterday, last night. They are already having surges. I don't know if you are familiar with Galveston, but part of it has this old sea wall(not sure the height) for some of the oldtimers, they rely on this. They feel it may be breached this time. It's 218 miles from the coast right now. Landfall to be aroud midnight tonight. Unless it veers alittle north(which it could) It will hit Galveston dead on. At this point it doesn't much matter. As you said Ike is big and there are sooo many towns along the coastal area there. They say all we should get is tropical storm type wind/rain. Be gon by Sunday they say. We hope everyone heeded the evacuation orders. Surely your friends did. We've had lots of busses ad private cars to arrivein Mesquite. They the can go to one of th sheltrs in Dal or Ft Worth.
Man they just showed the wst side of Galv (without the seawall) crap it is already filling up with water. The surges are going to get massive.
It is still 15 hours to projected landfall.
Hugs
Sunny&Scooter
Hoping all are staying safe
We can't imagine why anyone would mistreat a dog! Sure, we make messes sometimes and bark when we shouldn't, but all we want to do is love our people...and have them give us a never ending supply of treats in return! We don't think that's too much to ask!

The video on Asta's blog was very moving!
We can't understand why anyone would want to be mean to any doggie! All we want is to be friends!

Jake and JH:
We did not get to go on the big car trip. We stayed home with the sitter. Peanut and Flash have come from Kentucky to Oregon to Louisiana in the car. They had seat belt harnesses to wear. They survived a trip in a Jeep Liberty with their mom, 2 kids, a cat and turtle. I think Peanut got a dose of benadryl once to calm him down. If you are going to stay at motels just check online to see what ones take pets. Peanut's mom just had to wing it for places to stay when she went to Louisiana.
I traveled from Florida to Oregon a few years ago, but was in a crate and was smuggled into motels. I haven't had a long trips since them.
Hopefully you will be able to go on this trip with your pawents.
Happy, Happy Barkday, Jakey!

Sorry, Jake! The DWB calendar says today is Jake's birthday...must be some other Jake!
