OK, folks, what follows may cause the ladies to avert their eyes -- but in anticipation of our trip to St. Loulis where it is currently in the 20s -- our thoughtful Mom and Dogdad, after much reflection, purchased sweaters for us. They arrived yesterday and of course we had to try them on.
The whole process was hysterical -- at least Mom thought it was. We dutifully submitted, but upon being sweaterized, Just Harry immediately retreated to my otherwise unutilized crate (his favorite hideaway) and had to be coaxed out with a treat lest he be subjected to further humiliation.
I, as is my habit when something bizarre happens, just stood immobile for an eternity until I was undressed.
So we anticipate lots of fun in the dressing and undressing. Has anybody seen The Christmas Story and watched Ralphie's little brother get ready to go out in the snow?
Our only question at this point: how are we supposed to do you know what wearing these things that almost cover our you know what's?????
Mom, or better yet, Dogdad, you figure that one out!!!

Jake I'm with you bro. I also become paralyzed when clothed. I hate hate hate clothes. Those sweaters look nice, but I wouldn't want to WEAR them. I don't care how cold it is...leave me au natural. When are the humans going to realize we never had sweaters in the wild and don't need them now!
Have a great hol in St Louis!
Axel
Ummm, errr...I think you had best have your mom shorten those a bit, or they will get ruint the first time out, so to speak.
I try to remember that they love us, and muzzer has this rationale that goes "before you were domesticated, you doggies didn't spend all day watching the gas logs burn, and no one groomed your fur. So, just be quiet while I tie your bow tie!"

The joys of the thick Siberian fur. We don't need no stinkin sweaters! And, bonus points, we get to shed everywhere!
You guys are a riot. Those are very nice sweaters. I suppose it would have helped if you had ever needed them in Florida prior to this great adventure.
Guys, when it's time to answer the call of nature, tell your Mom and Dad to roll those things up, or you'll come back with a big icicle!
Actually, you look rather handsome. Sort of an Irish fisherman look. Very nice.

I was just going to asou how in the world you do your business with that on. I hope you figure it out before it's too late!!
Good luck!

PS For a sweater they are pretty.
Hi Guys!
I saw you on DWB and wanted to say hello! I love your sweaters! I have doggy coats but no sweaters and my coats leave plenty of room to go potty! Good luck with those sweaters, at least you will be nice and warm!

We feel your pain.......Love and kisses A+A
You two look absolutely dashing in your new sweaters, but we also wonder about "using it" when wrapped in something wooly. The teen-human ordered Madison a red cable sweater after our very chilly Tuesday night on Las Olas ... she'll look cute we are sure, and she is a very dainty pee-er ... Booker could never have endured the encumbrance to his P. activities!
Dear Jake and Harry,
You look very stylish in your matching sweaters. Girls don't have that problem you were talking about. Sounds like your Mom might need to add a trap door to your sweaters. Don't forget to close it though to keep out that cold St Louie wind. Have a great vacation.

Hi, friends!
Your new sweaters are so nice!
I hope you two get used to them!
Kisses and hugs

You might have to get an extension for your "you know what" so that you miss the sweater entirely.

Hey--at least they sweaters are somewhat camoflauged with your fur ;)
What gorgeous sweaters! We guess they'll get some getting used to! hehehehe
We love Christmas Story! What a great movie!
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
They are certainly handsome sweaters! I pee all over my coats and sweaters :)

Too funny.
You will be thankful for them when you get out in the cold. Beleive me I know. It's zero degrees where I am and I appreciate a coat.
Ruby
Well I think you both look quite natty in your coats boys!

As sweaters go those are mighty sharp! Though not as nice as your natural coats. And I think there might be some advantages to having your you know what covered. You don't want to get frostbite THERE.
wally t.
ps. I had chest x-rays today. I have an enlarged heart but no fluid in my chest--so I'm still ok for now! I will be posting an update SOON. Thanks for your concern. :)
Those jumpers look warm and cosy.

Hey, boys!
While you guys are truly steppin' out in those sweaters, I wonder if maybe the cold weather will invigorate your true terrier natures and that you say hasta la vista, baby to those sweaters once you get to St. Louis! You may find that you love running around naked! We shall see.
My girl wants me to mention that she loves the belly shots and thanks you for them. She thinks you look dapper! (Sheesh!)
Goob love & sympathy,
Stanley
I never did the whole paralyzed thing till Scruffy and Stan had that tug of war game with me in the middle while wearin' my new parka last year...now I w o n ' t m o v e...at all...
Those sweaters make you look very handsome boyz!!! I'm thinkin' you might need some major neck scritchin' when ur done???
Barkies...Laciegirl
Um...I had a little incident last night...you might wanna come and laugh at me like the rest of blogland.....
You look very handsome in your sweaters! Maybe you could roll them up when you go out to do you know what. We won't even let our pawrents put any sort of clothes on us....except Penny when she has to wear a storm shirt. You will be nice and warm on your trip!
Aire-hugs,
Poppy, Penny & Patches
I never have figured out those sweaters, either. I prefer au natural. You do look quite handsome in them, though.
I have a Christmas card for both of you. Can you email me an address? calicoblessings@aol.com
Happy Tails,
William Tell
Well, at least you look very handsome in the sweaters. But you would look very handsome naked too.
My mom got me a green sweater like yours and she hasn't figured out those leg strap things yet. I have been objecting. I do the same thing as you Jake - I am Statue Dog and I won't move at all.
Let me know if you figure out the you-know-what part.
Your friend, Lenny
OH HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. We aren't laughing at you 2 boys. It is just that everydoggy Mom has ever put a sweater on has done the "I cannot move one little muscle with this on" which eventually they mostly get over. Mom wishes she had a picture of a dog she had that tried to walk on her front feet only-never figured out how she thought that would help! lmao-ahem
Yep, you need to make the belly part shorter, or have one custom made. Mom hates the loops for the back legs. She thinks it complicates EVERYTHING!! Good luck. They are cool fisherman knit sweaters though!!!
We got your card today!!! We love that you put the heron on too!! Thank you. Sorry we haven't been by. Since Mom's accident things have been moving at a crawl. Including blogging!!
Hugs
Sunny&Scooter
pee ess mom says sorry for the novel as a comment!
pee ess. YES. Mom loves the part of the movie when Ralphie gets bundled up. Funny thing is, when Mom was a pup and her Dad was stationed in MA, she remembers the same problem!!! (and-an accident or 2 outside-gets cold quick boys!!) lmao
We are glad we live somewhere warm enough that we don't have to wear clothes. Hope you get unexpected warm weather in St. Louis and get out of wearing the sweaters.
Thanks for the greak card!
Comet and BLU
Hi boys,
Thanks so much for the Christmas card. I just love it! I don't like sweaters either because they are too bulky but I love to dress up.
Merry Christmas....Mona
You both look very dashing in your sweaters, not that you will be doing much dashing ..haaaa!!! I do the won't move thing when clothed too.Isn't that right then? Not much leaving pee mail either by the sound of it. Keep your legeddeds crossed.
Wiry wags, Eric xx
Stella got one of those magic sweaters too that make you incapable of moving. Those creep me out.
Nice job submitting to the humiliation
Slobbers,
Mango
