In Memory of a Special Foxie Girl from Finland

Memorial photo by Jill Murphy, Mom to Linus, an airedale gentleman, Libby Longtail, a young wirey miss, and Dennis, a mature wirey rescue.
One of our sweethearts passed away on July 8. Her name was Tiina and she was a 17-year old adorable wire fox terrier with tulip ears who loved the outdoors and brought joy to Anne, her mom, and to all of us who knew her through our cyberspace connections.
Here's what Anne once wrote about Tiina as she entered her "granny years." "She used to love to swim, spend hours in the lake, and fetch yellow water lily flowers for us. She wanted to play fetch with her ball or other toys so much that it wore everyone else out. No one would throw the ball for her, but being a wire fox terrier she soon learned the trick how the ball would roll into the water on its own.

I wish I had a video camera then to capture her on the rock cliff, egging the ball into the lake.We had to put an end to her games sometimes as she would not stop, but kept on and on. We feared she'd drown herself.

For the first 3 or 4 years she didn't go swimming, just waded in the shallow water, blowing bubbles, as she was puzzled why her paws were under water. Then she tried to find out the secret by sniffing them. Yep she is smart ."

Tiina lived a long, happy life in Finland --and we can just picture her now, across the Rainbow Bridge, renewing friendships with all her wirey pals who preceded her.
Godspeed, sweet girl!! We'll miss hearing about your antics and enjoying our virtual walks with you and your mom through the Finnish countryside .

Tiina looks adorable and was obviously a much loved dog. We are glad she had such a long and happy life.
Our thoughts are with her owner as we know humans miss us dogs when we go to Rainbow Bridge.
Run free sweet Tiina, we know of lots of great dogs that you are going to meet and play with there.
love and kisses

We admit to being overly sensitive... but we hope we didn't say anything inappropriate in our comment about Tiina. ( We are sad for her and her family. ) Or in our comment about the celebrated magazine cover - actually the Girl reading it.

Please don't approve this comment. PLEASE! We just didn't know any other way to communicate with you so we thought we'd write here. We don't want to say or do anything wrong.

Like we said... we'll admit to being overly sensitive. We just want to be dog-bloggically correct.
