Puppy Nostalgia

With all the wonderful news about puppies -- Bertie in Scotland to fill Gail's heart with new love and Katie in Ioway to bring new joy to Mama Lamb, Butcho and the catses -- Mom started thinking about when I was a puppy. It's appropriate at this time of the year because she and Dogdad brought me home at the end of March in 2002. It was just a few days before Passover, which is why my middle name is Elijah, in honor of the prophet of peace who comes to visit (and drink a cup of wine) during the Passover Seder.

So, filled with nostalgia, Mom dug out this old photo of moi at 4 months (not sure what happened to my ear in the intervening years). She tells me I was beyond cute. But what else is a mom to say??

Bertie, Katie -- we're breathlessly waiting for more adorable wire fox terrier puppiness!!

Your moma is right, Jake. You were cute beyond cute. Would you be embarrassed if we said you still ARE cute? (Don't want to ruin an image, or anything.)

We liked the middle name explanation. But now we want to know. Do you live up to the name? Are you a prophet? (Yes, we are sure you must be.) Do you promote peace? (We'll accept a broad allowance of just what defines "peace". And we'll let your people answer that one.) And do you lick up spots of wine? (We have our guess.) Whatever, it is a respectful name, and we're honored to have you, Jake Elijah, as a friend.

Yours,
Jake (Jacob Sylvester ... heheheh ... after my grampa I never met) and Fergi (just plain ole Fergi) xxoo

Oh yeah! We're getting excited about the pups, as well. There's sure a lot of talk about them around here!

Sigh...muzzer is wishing we had pictures of me as a pup. Ah Well, we know I made it through puppyhood, which is the most important thing.

Dad is bummed because the game (THE Game) which was s'posed to be on TV tonight is no longer listed in the schedule.

MLB-TV here we come.

Of course you were cute! And still are.
What I want to know is, did you ever drink a cup of wine? And if so, what happened??
Cheers, Gail.

Jakie, you're just as cute now as you were then!

Our mom went to a Seder and she's not even Jewish. She said it was very interesting and she got kind of lightheaded from a couple sips of wine!

We can't wait till the puppies get to their new homes!

Flashbacks are fun! I don't know why, but you look so much older than four months to me in that pic. Must be the gray hair. :)

OOOHHhh waaaayyyy beyond cute Jake. Still are you handsome boy. Looks like you might of had a first spa day on your furs in your photo? All this puppy stuffie has sent Mom into maternal mode orbit she's cooing and ooohing all over the place, even threatening to rush up to Scotland in case Gail needs a hand. What's that implying Jakie?? Us wiries a pawful?...teeheee!!!!

Square love and kisses Eric xxx

So you guys are gonna be near Tampa this weekend? Dang! I wish it was some other time...the Mr. will be having surgery early Monday morning, otherwise I'd love to meet up wif you guys and exchange sniffie-butts.

We live south of Tampa on the eastern side of the bay. We are Rays fans, you can see the stadium across the bay, not that it's close if you drive, only if you take a boat.

My peeps grandson is named Elijah too. But he goes by Eli. And named after a football player of all things.

sniffies,
Bonnie
