How cold is it????

Apparently the phenomenon of iguanas falling from trees as the temperatures drop below the lizards' comfort level, even here in sunny Florida, has excited reporters all over the world. As Florida residents who are managing to survive even with unexpected icicles dripping from our muzzles, we dogs feel sorry for the poor creatures. The human population, however, mainly in Palm Beach where these iguanas have proliferated like bunnies, is kind of pleased that a hibernating iguana is comparatively easy to remove, especially when he/she has landed with a kerplunk on the pavement, unlike the problems presented when said iguana is munching on all the plants in the landscape and leaving his/her iguana poo all over the place.

We were going to add a photo to this post -- but could hear all those "eeeeewws" and decided just to provide this comparatively benign link:

Our Pittsburgh pals, Laciegirlie et al, are planning a visit and have suggested we break out the grill. More later on this intriguing idea.....

Wirey woofs.

Yes, brrrrr! Before I even visited your link I thought of Key Biscayne because the have a bunny-like population curve there too and that is where my Miami office is. Looks like the iguanas will catch a break in the cold but then I suggest they find a sleeping spot closer to the groundbecause it is going to get crazy cold, huh?
Two nights ago Key West broke a record cold temp set in 1879!
Stay warm boyz!

Oh those poor little chaps.

Regarding your MM entry. I think that you really do belong in the terrier group. I don't think Insane Cracker Dog is a bad thing at all.

Oh My!

We are cold enough here that they are cancelling things! No snow. No ice. Just cold. Muzzer said "WTF" and Gussie immediately assured her that he had nothing to do with it.

Well I guess what happens in the US first comes to Europe a bit later. After reading about the blizzards in the US it now seems that we're going to have heavy snow and temperatures of minus 15 tonight - for heavens sake this is the south of France! Mark you we don't have any reptiles to fall off trees. Wilf and Digby being Polish are lving it.

Iguana stew or tacos? I'll help retrieve. Who's bringing the brewskis? I'll toss a suitcase of Corono lights in the back of the 4x4 truck and pluck some low hanging limes off the tree. Wear yer sweaters....it's gonna SNOW on the East coast of Floriduh.

Wooos! It is icy cold here too, but we don't have them giant lizard thingys here yet... which is good because I did not like the hissing they made at me when we were down there last week! The pooplooked inviting though, although Mum did not let me taste... bummer...

We see that Lacie has made her way to you and found a few of those iguanas to grill. Poor things, that must be quite the rude awakening for them. This weather is insane, Mom is worried about all those oranges there, hope the crop can survive.

Stay warm, boys.

Boyz...now, after perusin' CNN, I've been most worried bout the citrus crop...it would never do if somethin' happened to my Vitamin C that I apply daily to prevent those pesky wrinkles..

SO...the State of Florida has hired Scruffy (with a cut to me as his manager) to come down and well um let's just say apply some heated vapors to the orange groves...that's one thing Scruffy is good at...emitin' warmed vapors...they outta be about 102 degrees...should keep those trees nice and toasty. Now, clothes pins will be provided for all Floridian noses...as for what the future orange juice will taste like...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...sorta like garlic bologna, I'm thinkin'....

Always ready to help out...

Oh dear...the contract is already signed...can you smell the fumes er I mean can you see the "smudge" that's makin' the state of FLA look like Da Burgh in the forties when we had all the steelmills???

I'm pretty sure Scruffy wouldn't hafta leave PA to um "perform" but Stan and I have requested that he go to your house...just don't let him under anything or get in any enclosed spaces unless ya wanna paint next week...he even takes the finish offa the kitchen cabinets...

My my...this has been a very lucrative adventure for the Lacie...
