It's been raining a lot here -- mostly in the afternoon and evening. It's nowhere near as much as in the Midwest, and without all the dreadful flooding; yet enough that we haven't been out as much as we'd like. And then this evening, we've had some really really loud thunder boomers. Sure, Mom kept saying, OK boys, it's OK. But when she looked around -- where did she find us?
There's something about Dogdad's leg and shoe -- not to mention the security of the table overhead -- that just made us feel better.
Maybe tomorrow morning I'll go back to my bench next to her computer -- but for tonight... you all understand, right?
Jake

The thunder doesn't bother us. However, Essex hates fire works. Right now Dog Dad swear he is hearing her mutter, cursed fourth of July fire works.
It's always good to keep safe, I say. Sometimes human's don't understand what just what is dangerous.
Keep your chins up,

G'day Jake and JH,
Thunder boomers are very scary just like fireworks. Willow and Tess get really anxious.

I STAND on the kitchen table when mummy and Daddy go out! But when I am frightened I have my own corner.
Sorry you couldn't get to me the other day...have logged in as mummy to send you this! LOL!

The same thing has been happening at our house, guys! I HATE boomers and Mitch just sleeps like a baby! I hate Mitch!
Love ya lots,
Maggie & Mitch
Always best to find a safe place in a storm.
Pippa
I used to go under the table but now that I wear Véronique's T-shirt when the thunder comes it is much better....I feel safe....
Hope it stops soon...
Kisses, Faya
I completely understand. My Mommy gets nervous during thunderboomers, so I make sure to jump up right next to her and get as close as possible. (This sometimes involves sitting on the cat if he's already in her lap) Petting me and saying "It's okay, it will be over soon" seems to calm her right down. You may wish to try this approach.
Your pal,
Petey
Our late sister, Clea, used to HATE when it would thunder or rain. She's start shaking hours before it even started to storm. Mom says she was the best weatherdog ever...could forecast a storm like no one else. But once the storm arrived, she'd hide under mom's covers.

Arhh! Bless!
Hope the storms passed my now & it's back to blue skies!
My Hero hid under the table too, if he couldn't cuddle up!

That looks like the best place in the house to me. I know it has nothing to do with boomers either.
rainy days is never fun
I have to type this quickly becasue I have just left my postion under the desk with PL2.....UNDERSTAND???OF COURSE I DO!!!!! THAT STUFF IS BAD NEWS...PL2 has to give me a cocktail(rescue remedy) because of my fragile nerves.....so go where you have to go boys...Love Agatha
Well,it doesn't bother me in the least!! HA HA!! I finally have something over her!!! Love Archie(well maybe just a teeny weent bit)
We're sorry you boys are having those awful thunder boomers! Mom found out that if she puts a t-shirt on Penny right when they start, Penny is fine. She doesn't even try to climb behind the furniture. We don't know how or why it works, but it DOES.
Aire-hugs,
Poppy, Penny & Patches
Gee boys, I have been known to crawl under the bed for safety during a thunder storm....I know that no one can get under there and hurt me....so I totally understand the fact that you two find refuge under the table...hope your storms pass.....
Asta Marie, WFT
Sure boys, I understand. Well, really I don't. I'm just trying to be supportive. I never notice thunder or fireworks or anything like that. Hell, I'd probably not even lift my head to acknowledge a burglar, but don't tell anyone.

Our servant is going to post soon about the miracle "cure" for our Very Old Dog's thunderphobia. He did not even really care about the lst storm and it was a DOOZY. And before he had been getting so bad that the servant feared his old heart would give out.
We'll bug her to sew faster so she can write and tell everyone.

Hi, Jake and Just Harry -
I (Hershey) am like you. I hate thunder and cars backfiring too. The noises scare me. Kaci is not bothered by the thunder.
I (Hershey) run upstairs to my Mama and Papa's room to get away from the thunder.
Love -
Hershey and Kaci

I hate the boomers, too. And firecrackers. Though I shake and cry and get in my ape's lap. When she knows a storm is coming my ma ape sometimes gives me Melatonin which helps a bit. There was an article on MSNBC a week or so ago about noise phobia--it's linked on my blog.
The weird thing is--it used to be my sissy Morgan who was afraid of thunder. But when she died I inherited her scaredycatedness. Weird, eh?
wally.
Aw Boyz, that's bad- the boomers. You go where you feel safe. I don't mind the thunder too much I barks at it!! Yep I do, then I can't hear it.. you B Boyz MUST have tried that one ??????
Eric x
We had BIIIIG thunder today--it knocked out our power and even spooked my ma ape (one sounded like a gunshot).
wally.
ps. If she were the nominee, I'd be Howling for Hillary!
I certainly hate boomers myself. I normally go back behind the couch and wall. I find that to be quite safe.
I'll be thinking of you, too, next time I hear thunder.
Jake and Just Harry
