You know, pals, our Dogdad always tells us the truth -- so when he disappeared last Thursday and Mom told us he was in (as Gussie calls it) the Horse Piddle for a trial fib relation -- we were pretty concerned. We dawgs definitely do not like fibs. So we really couldn't understand why he wasn't here to explain just why he was off somewhere trying them out.Being a pretty clever dog, even if I do say so myself, I tried to find an explanation all by myself. Mom, seeing I was unhappy, filled me in -- and told me I'd just have to tough it out for a few days until he came home. And that she was counting on me and Just Harry to be extra good while he was away 'cause she had to leave us alone for longer than usual while she went to see how he was doing with this unusual -- for him -- relation.
So we waited.
And waited.
But then, after the people at the Horse Piddle had enough of those fibs, they straigtened him out -- and lo and behold, yesterday my Dogdad came home as honest and truthful as ever before!!! Happy doesn't begin to describe how I felt.
And Just Harry was upside down himself with joy!!!
So hoorah!!! Our Dogdad is home. No more fib relations!
Today is Bastille Day, one of Mom's favorite holidays, and even though we aren't in France, we think it's the pawfect time for a celebration. Mom asked me to say a very special thank you to all our human and doggie friends who sent her such kind thoughts and prayers while she was a total mess wondering what all this fibbing meant!
Wirey woofs and love,
Jake

Wow, so glad dad isn't having those trial fib relations any more and was able to come home to you! You did a good job waiting and being good!
We're so glad your dogdag is home and safe with you guys to protect him. And we just know you were good doggies while your mom took care of stuff in the Horse Piddle.
Happy Bastille Day to all, at least there won't be as many fireworks (here) as we had for the fourth of July.
kisses

Jake I am so glad your Dogdad is home and in good shape. That is always scary for everyone. Those darn horse piddles, they make all of us jittery.
Please tell your mom that I so appreciate her comment last week on my blog.
Happy Bastille Day mes amis!
Oh boyz. I feel baaaad.Might even send myself to the naughty corner. I'm way behind in my blogging and didn't know about your dog dad and his fibbing relations. I'm very sorry.
Thank dog he had you two waiting patiently and looking after Mom so well. And that you can celebrate he's back to his truthful self. I'd like to join you boyz in your celebrations and raise a glass over the big pee to newfound good health. Cheers! Here's to you all too.
Wiry love and kisses Eric xxx

unconditional love is just the bestest thing
Doing the happy dance for your Dog Dad! I'm glad he got all his fibs straight. My Mr. brought a fib relation home with him and it dials up every Monday morning and tells on him. Odd. He has a bathroom scale thingy that calls up every day too. I try to keep it warm for him during the day. One of these days it's going to dial up with MY weight instead of his and those people on the other end will be calling him wanting to know what miracle reducing diet he's on!!!! BOL! Give yer Mr. lots of warm furry kisses and cuddles and stay close to him. You gotta watch in case he slips in a fib or too!
sniffies,
Bonnie

I know you are sooooo happy now that he is back!

If you ever get locked inside the bastille bark at us. We know where the key is, and Dad has even seen it with his own two eyes.
