We have eaglets too!!!!!

As quoted in our Sun Sentinel
"Pembroke Pines - Wings extended to their full span, the bald eagle swept toward its nest. A fuzzy gray head popped up above the rim. It was lunch time. The eagle settled into its home of sticks and grass, tore at some sort of prey with its yellow beak — oblivious to the cars and trucks rushing by on Pines Boulevard — and began gently feeding bits of food to its chicks. The celebrated bald eagles of Pembroke Pines, the first nesting pair in Broward County since the 1970s, have returned, and in the past four weeks they have produced three eaglets.
A committee of conservationists and government officials is working to make sure the eagles are protected."
Since most of our posts about other species have been warnings about aliens such as Burmese pythons or hungry biting iguanas (or same iguanas frozen and falling from trees) -- we are so tickled this morning to report that the nesting pair above returned to their home in a nearby city and have produced and are feeding three thriving eaglets.

Super cool! Way more exciting than a Peacock which I put in the burmese python and iguana category (though it was pretty!).
I had not heard this news so thanks for sharing.

Wooos! We have a nesting pair that is about 1/2 mile from us, Mum loves watching them, but we do not know if there are babies this year, last year there was just 1.
So , are woo still barking in the bathroom at night? Mum thinks it is rats!

That is wonderful. It is so fun to follow the progress of the little birdies. That is why we always love Khyra's posts about the falcons. Thanks for sharing your news too.

Thanks for stopping today! We love terriers! Mom read a couple of your posts to us. If we had eaglets our Bonnie would be trying to climb the tree! That Mama eagle would teach her, huh? Mom and Dad are already dreading spring because Bonnie has caught birds, once she brought one in the house! Lately she's been barking at them in the trees at night. Moms actually glad we don't live in Florida because we hear bull frogs are bad there and Bonnie is a frog dog, and a bird dog, worm dog, bug dog, but she's the best at being a Frisbee dog. The rest of us just watch! Oh, Bonnie (smooth JRT) came out of a puppy mill in Missouri! A small one, but still! Mom didn't know much about puppy mills (other than breeding for pet stores) until she lived there from 2004-2007. She's been to Joplin too! Jake, it's a good thing your Mom and Dad spotted you and got you out of there. How are the showers going these days? So glad to hear JH found a good home with you guys. You sure look like brothers, guess it was meant to be, huh? We got lots in common guys, stay in touch. The Gang@ Dog Blog for Five Dogs

You get eagles and I get me muffur (fur mom). That is SO not fair. I'd rather the eagles, me thinks. EAGLES can't boss you around, EAGLES can't take their bad moods out on you, EAGLES do not steal your attention, ....I could go on for days.

I really do love me muffur. We're bonding, and we are doing extremely well. She is quite the fox, huh? She's a plus-sized model, and she will be blogging very soon (when she finishes her computer 101 course from yours truly).

Stay tuned,
Irish Love, McG

Eagles are protected here too. Our little doggies have to be very watchful to make sure there are none overhead! They can snatch the little dogs up and take them on a scary trip!!

Thanks for visiting our blog again! We would like to be friends too!! xoxo Toby, Ginger, Jeter & Halle

Hey...did ya ever stop barking at the shower? That's pretty normal terrier behavior in this house...albeit not at 3 am...sorta an Archie thing to do...

Perhaps it was a large mouse?

A rat who needed a wash with Irish Spring?

IT WASN'T ME...I was in the rocking chair too...

I never shower past 8 am...

Scruffy is in trouble...making stoopid pics that make fun of me...and even worse poems...

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

We have done lots of fostering of birds of prey, but never an eagle. Awesome birds! Keep us updated on the eaglets.

And we saw the frozen inguanas falling from trees on the news. Too too funny!!!
