'Twas the Day before Thanksgiving...

The table was set:

(Note: that cute pumpkin face is our pal, Linus the Airedale, drawn by his Mom, Jill.)

The foodables were being prepared and we were helping as best we could.

The cranberries with apples were saucing

The green beans were trimmed.

The pine nuts for the stuffing and the almonds for the green beans were toasted.

The sweet potatoes were ready for baking.

The turkey was thawed and waiting to be roasted.

The pies were ready for transport from our brother's house.

The wine was chilled.

But, Oh My Dog,, something was wrong...very very wrong.

"What is it Jakey?" Mom asked.

"Where are my bowls???" I barked. "Who moved my bowls???"

"They're over here, Jakey -- just around the corner, out of the way so you won't get stepped on when the company comes. It's just temporary for tomorrow. OK???"

"OK, I guess so -- but it'll cost you. Just Harry and I will be watching to see that we get our share of the feast!!! It all smells so good already, we can hardly wait. One or two green beans isn't gonna' cut it!!!

"Got it, Mom?"

"You betcha', Jakey!!"

Happy Thanksgiving to all
Your table looks lovely, and Eric seems to be on the right track about putting the bowls UNDER the table. Less distance, ya know?

Yummm! That looks like a spread right out of a magazine! Since our kitchen is literally 8" x 5" (and that's pretty big by NYC standards) there's no way we'd have room to make all that food! Mommy's going to a potluck dinner so she just had to make an appetizer. Hope she remembers to bring home a DOGGIE (And KITTIE, says Mica!) Bag for me!

Happy Thanksgiving Barkalot boys!!!

Your pal,

Petey

Gads and double gads,
That menu looks like a very ritzy restaurant. You boys are very lucky to be living in that house. It is going to have superior eatables and looks like a million-zillion bucks.

Howdy Ho, Jake & JH!

WHOA, man! You've got a regular feastie going on at your place with roast (turkey) beastie and all kinds of good stuff. I hope you got yourselves a nice bowlful each with seconds.

Stella & I have been missing your fuzz faces terribly, thanks to our girl's laziness. But, we kicked her in a strategic spot and now she's back on the blogging trail helping us catch up on all of our friends. We're going to be reading about your more recent exploits, and can't wait!

My girl does a similar thing as your dogdad when she grooms Stella. The hardest part is doing her tail and under-tail area. She has to hold her like a football with her tail facing the front. It's not pretty.

You guys are looking all spiffy for your trip to St. Louis! I hope you have a great time. You know, I'm only about 3 1/2 hours from St. Louis. Maybe we could arrange something....

Please give your sweet mama & your dog dad each some Thanksgiving goober love from us, and take some for yourselves!

Goober love & smooches,
Stanley

I can't believe that you did not invite me for dinner. I would have eaten every one of those green beans. Yummers. Then I probably would have had the rest. Maybe that's why you didn't invite me.

Hey Barkalotz glad you had a great TG! Moose and I are beside ourselves curious to read the mat that is under your food bowls in the pic!
Hope they made it back to the Dogbar and you are getting some leftoverz!

How funny Barkalotz! I have seen something similar to what is on the mat and actually had it in mind when I posted 'Day 7 of my captivity' ( http://dewdana.blogspot.com/2008/11/day-7-of-my-captivity.html )
Thanks for the well wishes!
