For Jake with Love Forever

Jake Elijah Schnettler

January 1, 2002 - September 18, 2013

This is beyond sad and I don't think I can see to write much, but I know Jakey would want his friends to know where to find him.

After a too rapid decline from a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer just last week, we helped him cross the Bridge at noon today.

My heart, you were loved.

  4. Jake, Darling....we are weeping but know you are now experiencing the joy of being young and healthy, and are able to romp and pull and tug toys and you always win....we see the sun shining but a nice plle of damp mud to roll in. We see you flying with your Weather Heron...soaring and sailing on the winds. We hear you barking to tell us of your arrival and to tell JH and your Peeps that all is well.

All IS calm, bright and at peace.

Love to you and your family.

We know there is a special sukkah waiting for you at the Bridge. We will have a candle burning for you here tonight. There is much sadness here, but also relief that you are not suffering and know peace and freedom from pain.

  29. Ah Jake, we haven't been around very much but that doesn't mean we've forgotten our friends and all the fun and silly times we shared. How clever of you to go so quickly, rather than make your Mom and Dad suffer and worry about you. No doubt Mango and Joey and Butchy were waiting for you for a friendly game of poker ( in Heaven I hear the chips are made of bacon.) How lucky your Mom and Dad and Just Harry were to share their lives with you. I hope their smiles far outweigh their tears with time.

    Much love,

    Jane and Petey

  31. I was so sad to hear of Jake's passing from Asta Kroon on Facebook. I just lost my little Skippy after a brief illness a few months ago, so I have some idea what you are going through. But you must believe, as I do, that someday we will be reunited with our beloved pets at the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.

Until then, you'll be able to feel Jake's tail wagging in every beat of your heart. Thump, thump...

  32. Jake, you will be always in my heart.
My thoughts are with Just Harry, Mom and Dad.

  38. Sorry to hear of Jake's passing. Asta Kroon let us know the bad news. We know your pain, our Bentley, Asta's half brother, passed unexpectedly on Sunday. He was fine hiking with us a week earlier, he had blood work on Wednesday and his kidney numbers were off but not badly. By Saturday he was in complete renal failure.
Rest well Jake knowing you were loved. You will be missed, but not forgotten. You brought happiness into many lives, don't feel badly that a there were be some sad days with your passing. Until the Rainbow Bridge.

  41. Thank you for taking the time to stop by and let us know. Jake was a real family fellow ; fun, mischief and devotion all rolled up in one. He's been part of the dog blog scene for as long as I can remember. I really don't know whether the suddeness of what happened is a blessing or not. What I do know is that he was loved in a special way and that today must be very, very difficult for all of you. Only those who have had to take those difficult decisions klnow what it means . He, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

  44. Dearest friends, when we learned the news we had no words just heartache and tears; we lost our way when our Sparky passed, we have not shown our presence but have held you all close to our hearts so learning Jake left for God's Garden broke our hearts. May all the wonderful memories help comfort you all during this most difficult time and love licks & hugs to you all and extras to Just Harry ~from Ginger~ we will keep you in our prayers knowing the suddenness makes it shockingly more difficult to cope; much love to all xo
