Dad's Little Helpers....

So there we were outside on the back patio on this hot steamy Saturday afternoon, when Dogdad started to water the plants. "Can I help, huh? Huh? " I (Jakey) asked.

Biting water is one of my favorite things to do. But when I started to bite the water, my doofus brother decided that he wanted to bite the water too at exactly the same time -- and before we knew it, we were both tangled up, and snarling at each other as to whose water it was.

So what did Dogdad do? Unbelievable. He turned and spritzed each of us in the face -- and left us looking like -- what else -- two bedraggled wet dogs.

Shocked and insulted, we retreated inside, where we found Mom engrossed in reading a book until she realized someone was staring at her. She looked down and, when she saw what I looked like, she asked me what happened. "Well, you see, it was like this....."

  2. Perhaps your Dogdad could have a water receptacle in each hand and then you will not end up in a scrap. Biting water is very refreshing.

  10. Oh my goodness, how on earth could your Dogdad have done that to you!
After all what is a little snarl between siblings........part of the fun really!
We do hope you dried off and your fur didn't frizz!
    Some humans are so thoughtless.
Tell the Dogdad if he lived in Scotland he wouldn't need to worry about watering anything......

  11. I am learning that us dogs have a different approach to gardening tasks, and that it is not always appreciated by our beloved humans!

  12. Oooh, Thunder thinks that sounds like a lot of fun, but he would probably have the same problem with Ciara as you did with JH. Hope you were able to convince Mom it was all Dad's fault.

Happy Mother's Day to your Mom!

  17. Hi again Boyz. To answer pawrents Question... yes I am horrified an disgusted at the oil situation. At the moment I feel south florida has time (distance) on its side but that won't last forever. As of tonight I am now seriously angry about the federal response. I think they are being ridiculously lenient on BP who I have just learned were off by more than 10x about the rate of flow. BP has been keeping scientists at a serious distance and that is handicapping the response and they should not be given license to do this. It is their mess but they should be forced to clean it up to the public standards not their own. Keeping scientists away is akin to those parents who dont believe in taking their kids to the hospital but in this case the child is one owned by everyone. Grrrr. don't get me started! Sigh... paws crossed that the damage can be reversed soon :-(
