Bougainvillea, Brunch, and our Best Behavior

We were invited to an Easter brunch on Sunday with Mom and Dogdad's friends. They live about 45 minutes away to the south -- so we had a very cool road trip!!

When we got there, we saw the most beautiful bougainvillea. (Ours look like sick cousins by comparison. We're so embarrassed, we won't even show them.)

The brunch table had lots of yummies. OK, we'll have the eggs and the bread and we spy a few carrots...Mom, you can have the matzoh!!

Treats? For me?
And me???
More, please...Notice how good we're being. Nary a bark. OK, a few little friendly jumps, but no begging, no leg humping!!

Ah, but then I got to thinking about sweet Gabbi, so many miles across the ocean...And then JH crashed!! It's tiring being on our best behavior!!

OK, Mom, we're ready to go home.

Jake

  1. You guys have great smiles! Happy dogs, we'd say.

(AND it made our hearts sing to see your harnesses... sometimes we feel as if people must think we're incarcerated. Now we know we're not the only ones!)

So... we want to know... did you sleep all day on Monday :)

That bougainvillea was amazing. We dont know what that is - is it like an azalea?

  8. What excellent visitors you two were - and how lucky to get invited. Madison is afraid that she is too GIANT to get invited along to new people's houses ... she doesn't really "tuck into a corner" very well ...

  14. Are the two of you turning over a new leaf or does it have to do with being in love?

  15. Now your comment about bouganvillia on Martha and Bailey's blog makes sense. When we first read it we thought,"What in the world is Jake of Florida talking about? Doesn't he know this post is about poor Bailey being framed & sent to jail!!??" NOW we see the light.hehe.

  21. Thanks for all that info on the bougainvillea.
Seems unlikely that it would grow in Scotland then!
It is certainly very pretty. xx

  23. Beautiful Bougainvillas! We are in the process of planning our landscaping here at the moose lodge and have committed to using native plants and are HEARTBROKEN that they are not native to this area. They are so easy to grow down here that it is really tempting!
I had to scroll back through a lot of your love interests to be reminded of who Gabbi is, what a bea-utiful hound she is! You two are really on the prowl these days ;-)

  24. Yes, I agree about making Bougainvillas honorary natives along with Key Limes so I can support my mojito habit ;-)

  28. You two sweethearts are the BEST visitors EVER. Thank you and your dear people for all of your kindness; it has meant so much.

And you know I had the same thought: if I were writing this in a novel, it wouldn't be believable.

  29. Misery love bougainvillea. She couldn't grow it in the UK (inside) and she can't grow it in Spain either. haha

  30. Pretty bougainvillea! Mom said we used to have some of them at home, but they weren't as pretty as the photo you took!

You two look SOOO cute smiling for the camera! I agree,it's tiring work sometimes...but it's worth the treats, no? *grins*
