You've all heard from time to time about what some of us wires face when it is time for the dreaded grooming. Well, here is evidence, up close and personal -- very personal -- about what goes on at our house...
Before we go on, however, we must offer a disclaimer on behalf of our dear Dogdad: Since I, Jakey, almost had a seizure at a professional groomer's several years ago, he has taken it on himself to do a kinder, gentler, kind of grooming. Sometimes he just uses the furminator. But when we start "bloomng," it's time to get more serious. Instead of using a professional table with supporting ropes, he invites us on to his lap. And instead of a total stripping, he plucks only as far on our jackets and faces as we can endure, and then clips the rest of us. The result? Well here we are, as I said, up close and very personal.

Your Daddy grooms you? Our daddy wouldn't know an undercoat rake from the yard rake in the garage!!! WOW! Mumsie does us on the floor in the laundry room...our grooming times have shortened since we got Stanley...Mumsie says she can only eat so much fur...when she's sneezin' it, we're done...works for us!!

Wow, we are glad we do not have to go through that. We gets lots and lots and lots of brushing because we produce lots and lots and lots of fur, but at least it just falls our and no clipping is involved. Except for nails. We hate that.

ReplyDeleteYou two look absolutely handsome with your new doos. I hate the stripping thing, come to think of it I'm not too fond of getting brushed or combed. My Mom wants to learn how to hand strip, she just has to find someone who will teach her. She kinda touched on the subject with the groomer but he wasn't interested.

ACK! Grooming! Ask me about it! I mean when I blow my coat it's dangerous! globs of fur pop out of my body and The Woman says it reminds her of that movie Gremlins when they reproduce! Next thing you know, off to the groomer! Ever seen a collie after a bath? We look like large rats!
